Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 (February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in this part of the island of Montreal that is known as"the West Island. People unfamiliar with the term frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal although in actual fact, the West Island is home to anything and everything that is found in the Lachine city. She had a dream to be a dancer but the rapid growth of her body led to she was able to outgrow the dancers she was with. In an article from The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6'1 inch. Once I outgrew male partners I quit. The majority of dancers who have been ex-dancers now turn into acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a nudge from a high school drama teacher who pushed her in the right direction. Her teacher advised her to audition as Anne in their annual school production. After a few auditions the role, she was chosen as the lead actress in Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's participated participating in numerous productions on large screens as well as smaller ones. Her most significant recognition when she landed her part as Rita of the acclaim-winning TV show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and appeared only in a few episodes.
